P2P defined the 2014 consumer fintech revolution, and Mastercard needed to stay ahead with its core payments platform.
Solution
My team at Monitise Create won the Mastercard Send P2P business through a core insight: most banks don’t have dedicated engineering resources for developing custom applications. We set out to build a modern, consumer-led P2P app that included an SDK so that any bank could offer peer-to-peer payment services right out of the box. Our solution supported iOS and Android, and could be managed by a custom CMS in the background, enabling any bank to set up and deploy P2P transfers using the Mastercard rails.

2015 was a big year for digital wallets. We worked with Kohl’s to show how families could save even more during Back-to-School, articulating various consumer profiles and identifying pivotal shopping behavior along a 30-day user journey. These insights led to volumes of user stories and illuminated how the branded Charge Card could transform the in-store experience for years to come.

We dove deep into the world of Katy’s fans, dreaming up a mobile app that kept them connected to her, her music, and her artistry 24/7. The result? A mobile experience that not only brought fans closer but also transformed her concerts into even more interactive, unforgettable experiences.

In 2015, Mastercard partnered with us to bring their real-time transaction API to life, a tool that gives developers and businesses access to merchant and transaction data from any business that accepted Mastercard worldwide. Our team turned this vision into reality by designing dynamic customer journeys, showcasing how users could discover hidden gems in San Francisco and New York through a mobile app. We crafted detailed sketches, wireframes, and an interactive prototype that brought this powerful data to life, demonstrating its potential in a real-world consumer experience. To top it off, we created an engaging explainer video to showcase the APIs capabilities, making it easier for developers and businesses to see the transformative power of real-time transaction data.
